Snow Day 1/10/11

We woke up to a beautiful white morning. First we headed over to get the sleds.

Then we headed over to a hill we thought would good but it wasn't.
So we headed back home.

I hooked up one of the sleds to the four wheeler and pulled the boys.

Grandmama's house is beautiful!

Pulling some more. They loved it.

I wanted a go too but Gabe wasn't heavy enough and the four wheeler couldn't get enough traction.

So the boys hit the hill in the back and front yard.

They stayed out for a really long time.
This picture cracks me up.
I took the picture and then...

They started throwing snowballs.
Evil little children!

I think I may have the coolest kids in the world!

A Visitor from China

Clay brought home a visitor from China. His name is Wan.
He is here for training at Clay's lab.
He brought a gift for the boys. This keychain is called "The Baby of the Sea" or HAI BAO in Chinese.

The boys wanted to play ping pong with Wan.
Here is Pierce.

And Gabe.

And of course, Clay.

Before lunch at Gabe and Cecelia's, Gabe and Pierce taught Wan how to play Crazy Eights.

One our way to eat, grabbing a quick picture with Wan.
After lunch, Clay and I took Wan to Athens to see the Merial building and UGA.

Rook

Clay taught the boys how to play Rook over Christmas holidays. So, of course, I learned too. We have been playing Rook like crazy. We have spent several hours a day playing. Clay and I wake up to the boys begging us to play and we hear, "Just one more game before we go to bed?" The boys and I are improving but we still have lots to learn!

New Year's Eve

We went over to Kaye's sister's, Lou (as the kids call her), house for New Years.
We had lots of good food.

Later, we went out for fireworks, adults only.

The kids played with sparklers. (Pierce)

Jodie too.

OOOO! AHHH!

All the kids.

Grandmama, Squirrels, and Lunch

Clay woke up and wanted to take the boys squirrel hunting.
They headed out to Grandmama's house and a little while later, I got...

this picture texted to me. They both shot their first squirrel.
They stopped by to talk to Grandmama. She asked the boys about German Oven Cake, so Clay invited her over for lunch.

The boys convinced Grandmama to play crazy eights while Clay and I made lunch.

Grandmama got to eat her first German Oven Cake for lunch today.
She liked it!

Georgia Basketball

We met several of our friends for a Georgia basketball game on Tuesday.
We first met at Pepino's Pizzeria for, what else, PIZZA!

We took over one whole corner of the place. Gabe and Mo played a lot.

Amber and Ashley read books in one booth.

The guys eat at one table.
Dave, Clay, Scott, and Josh

Angie, Gina, and Mo

The other kids were at another booth playing games.

Ashley was the only Brock to wear Georgia attire.
Go DAWGS!

Some of the boys watching the game.

Mo shared his popcorn with me. YUM!

Pierce got his picture with Spike.

Gabe and Logan acting cool.
Pierce wanted to be in the picture too.

Cheering on the DAWGS!

Christmas Day and More

We told the boys not to wake us up before 8:00 AM.
They didn't BUT went and checked it all out at around 6:30am.

They both asked Santa for tickets to Disney World. Gabe also wanted a football signed by A.J. Green. Pierce wanted a snow tiger. They must have been really good this year because they got what they wanted.

Pierce checking out his stocking.

The boys gave Clay the biggest present under the Christmas tree.
It was something they both wanted for their daddy (and themselves).
It was a new backboard for the basketball goal.

Gabe got Pierce this game that is similar to Simon Says.

It started snowing later Christmas Day. It snowed all night too.
The boys woke up to white everywhere.

They played for a long time outside.
Sledding, snowball fights, and four-wheeling with their daddy.

That's a lot of snow!

After playing in the snow, they came in to play with their presents from Grandmama.
Pierce had to dig for dinosaur bones.

Gabe had to make crystals.
Gabe quickly got his finished and then had to wait for the crystals to grow.

Pierce had to dig and dig and dig. And then dig some more. He is still not finished.
This may be a long process but he is enjoying it!
