Kayaking the Hooch

We decided to try a new spot to kayak. We went up to White County and went down the Chattahoochee.

At first it was nice and calm water.

But it quickly turned into some fun rapids.

The boys did such a great job. These were the only rapid pictures I took cause we had tons of rapids the whole day.

There were some other calm spots that we stopped and played in the water.

We found a rope swing, so we had to stop.

Clay and Pierce

The last leg of the river was very calm. We were beginning to get tired when we finally got back to the outpost. What a great day on the river.

Kayaking with Phil

Phil called up Clay to go kayaking with some of his friends. It had rained a lot so the river was up. It made for awesome kayaking and fast moving water.

We started out on the Hudson River and ended on the Broad River.

Phil on the rapids.

We stopped at a deep spot and swam and some of us jumped (not me).

Ready to take the plunge.

Michael enjoyed the kayaking even in his jeans, tennis shoes, and western shirt.

Even I hit the rapids.
We had so much fun on the rapids, we decided to take the boys on Monday.

Kayaking on the Hudson River

We bought the boys smaller kayaks like ours. Clay had been looking for some for a long time and found these on Craig's list in Carnesville. Yes, I said Carnesville! They were meant for us.

Gabe and Pierce now have their own kayaks. They fly on these like they are pros.

Gabe is trying to look at me.

Clay is too cool.

My boys look good going down the river.

Pierce loves his new kayak.

After kayaking, we went to check the fish basket. We didn't catch much, a few horny heads, carp, and one that I can't remember the name of. But no catfish.

Kayaking at Watson Mill Bridge

Today was pretty but cool. We decided to go kayaking at Watson Mill Bridge State Park.

Gabe and Clay went first. They went around a few bends and then came back to let me and Pierce have a chance to go.

Pierce and I went a ways down the river too and enjoyed kayaking.

I went close to the bridge but not too close cause it drops off a ways under the bridge.

My boys were waiting to help me get out of the kayak but had to bust a move.

The boys got a hold of my camera as Clay and I got the kayaks packed up. Man, a face only a mama could love!

Don't want to know what Gabe was doing....
