The Mountains

Kaye's dad lives in the mountains. We went up to house sit for him while they were away. We, of course, had letterboxes picked out, so we went to Boggs Creek first. The kids love to play in the creek.

A deep hole!

The perfect place to slide. Pierce slid first.

Then Gabe.

Next is Jamie.

Gabe and Jamie are about to go down.

Jamie is starting to slip and grabbed Gabe.

They had a blast here.

Goggles ready and looking for fish. Too funny!

The moms had fun reading while they played.

Look at those cute kids sitting in the waterfall.

Well, that was day one in the mountains.

Day two was tubing at Pappy's.

And they are off to the river.

Jodie and I were hooked together.

Pierce would hang on too.

Jodie and Pierce wanted to walk for awhile.

Pierce would help the ladies if they got caught on a rock or under the branches. Here he is hanging with Kaye.

At the end, there was a good sized rapid. So, we had to go back and ride over and over and over. Gabe went on his knees.

Gabe and Jamie went together.
We then went to Vogel State Park and the kids played putt-putt.
We saw some baby birds. Too cute! And played for a long time at the beach area!

The end of the day!

The next day we headed to Hiawassee to the beach area. We ate a picnic lunch and then the kids played in the lake.

Pierce is too cool for words!

We went to High Shoals Falls. Long walk but 2 cool falls.

This is the lower falls. We were bummed cause we hoped we could let the kids play in the waterfall.

There was a lot of pouting cause they can't play in the upper falls either.

But we found the creek so they could play.

But, DANG, it was cold.
We had a blast!

Prudence Gets Married

Prudence was beautiful.

Becky brought some friends and we had our picture taken.

I had the best looking man with me, sorry Steven and Pru, but he sure is handsome.

Gabe got a picture of the cake.

Some of the teachers that attended. It was a beautiful wedding.

VBS at Homer Methodist

After getting back from Charleston and Camp Glisson, it was time to visit Egypt and Joseph during Vacation Bible School.

I was in charge of music. Here I am with my two great assistance.

We danced and sang our tails off all week. Here is Pierce's family group during music time.

Pierce invited Ronnie. Here they are during story time. Ronnie is telling Pierce how to get through maze.

Crazy Kim was in charge of games. Pierce and Jodie had fun.

I hardly had time away from my music so I only got a few pictures of Gabe's family group. They are at the market buying and making different things from the Egyptian times. Okay, so maybe a handlebar mustache and goatee isn't really Egyptian but it's what he wanted.
We had a great week. Now, we have to prepare for singing and dancing for the church in August all the music we learned at VBS.

Letterboxing Trip to Charleston

While the boys were at camp and Kaye's girls were visiting Pops, Kaye and I took a boxing trip to Charleston. We started out in downtown and walked our butts off looking for boxes.

They were everywhere and took us to amazing sights.

We were waiting for people to move from where one of the boxes was hiding. So it was photo time.

The pineapple is a symbol of Southern hospitality. Learned something new!

We went to an old Confederate cemetery. Those were some of my favorite boxes. The cemetery was beautiful.

We then went to Edisto Beach. We went to the coolest Serpitarium around! Snakes EVERYWHERE! I could have stayed and watched them for hours.

They also had alligators and turtles.

We went to the Angel Oak tree. It was huge.

Then we were off to the Isle of Palms. We hung out at the beach for about an hour. Then found some boxes.

Next we headed over to Fort Moultrie. We got some boxes and learned about Fort Moultrie. This is where we stamped in with beach, water, and Fort Sumnter off in the distance. Cool!

Just putting a box back.
Kaye and I had a great time. We laughed our heads off. Got a lot of boxes. Saw some amazing sights and ate and ate and ate SEAFOOD!
