Our Watermelonth Anniversary

April 26th was our anniversary. It was our 13th year. Now, the boys have been raised to not say the number 13 by their crazy daddy. While Clay was growing up, he worked in a watermelon field. As the men were throwing the watermelons on the truck, they would not say 13 but say watermelon instead. The boys are always saying watermelon instead of 13. So, it only seemed appropriate to give Clay a watermelon for our 13th anniversary.

Spring and House Painting

Everything is looking so pretty, I had to take a picture of some of my flowers while Clay was getting the house ready to paint. We are painting the house a darker gray with white trim.

This maple tree is gradually turning from red to green.

Look at my beautiful azaleas and iris'. They are all starting to bloom.

Clay started on the eaves and trim. I hated to watch him up there.

I started on the sides. We didn't get started until after 4:00 Sunday afternoon and worked until almost dusk. We are going to take it one side at a time.

Pierce wanted to help too.

Gabe had fun watching us and playing on the scooter.

Jaime's 11th Birthday

We went camping at Tugaloo State Park for Jaime's birthday. It is one of our favorite parks because of the big field for the kids to play in and the lake.

We all rolled in about the same time. First, we helped get the campers set up. Ate some yummy burgers and dogs. And then it was off to the lake. I thought they were crazy because it was cold! They had a great time. Clay and Todd threw the frisbee while they all were in the water.

Now, head back to the camper for really, really, really, really looooong showers! The boys thought the girls would never get out!

Then they played kickball, football, and other stuff in the field.

Saturday was a wet, cold, and a yucky day in general. Happy Birthday to Jaime! But we had fun anyway! Everyone played in the rain. Pierce LOVED it! He ran around, laid in the puddles, and let Todd dump the collected water on him.

When the rain got really bad, they all went into our camper and played games like Banagrams, Elephants and Ants, and Mancalla.

Back to getting wet!

Pierce got the girls wet so Abby tried to catch him. Pierce loved the girls chasing him.

Jamie opened presents in the rain.

Had a silly string fight in the rain.

Sang Happy Birthday in the rain. And, ate cake and ice cream in the rain. Even though it rained and rained and rained on Saturday, we all had an AWESOME time!

Highly Effective Habits of Happy Kids

Gabe was chosen to present at the BOE meeting on April 19th. He was one of several students from 2 third grade classes and his fourth grade class. They have already presented to our school Superintendent, Mr. Erwin earlier in the year. The group also presented in front of the Education Department at Piedmont College. There were 25 to 30 professors in attendance.

The Board of Education members, our Superintendent Mr. Erwin, Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Reed, and others are seated at the front. There were lots of visitors present too.

Gabe presenting. He was very poised and spoke eloquently.

Tre, Pizza, and Georgia Football

Thompson and Sarah called us and said they were coming down from North Carolina to see the G-Day Game and wanted to meet up with us. So, we all met at Little Italy Pizzeria.

As soon as Thompson, Sarah, and Tre showed up, it was on! Gabe, Pierce, and I fought over who was going to hold Tre. I got lucky and got to hold him first. The boys immediately were by my side. Tre was such a great baby and was happy to have everyone hold him.

Gabe got Tre next. While Pierce played with him.

My sandwich came before the pizza, so I ate. Then when the pizza arrived, I got to hold Tre again. Is that not the sweetest face ever!

Next, we left to head to the G-Day Game.

I got lucky enough to hold Tre again. Pierce took this great picture.

Putt-Putt Tournament

Holy One Putt-Putt Golf Tournament

Gabe and Pierce were invited to a putt-putt tournament. It started early Saturday morning with a word of praise and a pray. It was sponsored by Welcome Home Baptist Church.

Pierce was asked by Buck to be on his team with Chaz and Jamie.

Clay just had to play too, so he signed up the day of the tournament.

Harley asked Jodie to be on her team.

Take at look at the awesome course. They held it at The Oaks in Gainesville. If you ever want to play putt-putt in Gainesville, you need to look this place up. It is very nice.

Gabe was on a team with Seth and Trey.

As we waited for the totals to be added up, everyone got goodie bags. Clay was checking out what all Buck got. Buck was scared Clay would take his candy!

We are all just hanging out waiting.
Clay, Tony, Kaye and some of the kids

Buck, Chaz, Pierce, and Jamie came in first! They won a putt-putt set, and a free pass to Monkey Joe's.
Seth, Trey, and Gabe came in second. They won gift cards to Brusters!
Not bad for a Saturday morning.

Easter Egg Hunts

Happy Easter!

We had our first hunt at Hebron Presbyterian Church, our home church. Above is the group of hunters. Clay and Josh had a great time hiding eggs!

As soon as they said GO!...Gabe was off and running!

Josh, Mo, and Grandmama were hard at work hunting for eggs.

I had to force Pierce to stop for just a second so I could take his picture. I had a hard time keeping up with the boys this year so I could take a picture.

Grandmama and Clay are in deep discussion! Hmmm...what could it be about?

Clay and Josh managed to hide 2 eggs in the corners of the church porch. I wonder how they get them up there? Gabe had a great time trying to get them down! Is that a shepherds hook?

Mo and Pierce were sharing candy.

Next we went to Nana's church, Bold Springs United Methodist Church for an egg hunt.

While the adults were hiding the eggs, the kids got to listen to the Easter Story, eat snacks, and play Easter Bingo.

Pierce won one of the games of bingo.

Then they were off and running to find eggs. Here is Gabe searching the playground.

Pierce on the run too.

Finally, the end. We got a silly picture of the cousins.
